RC Rottweil : München RFC
29 : 10

Munich Rugby traveled to Rottweil feeling confident at the top of Bundesliga 2. Despite a number of injuries the Lions were still able to travel with a strong 15 but were also aware of how dangerous the Rottweil team can be, especially at home. Rottweil started the game fast and won a penalty in front of the post which was successfully converted. Munich defended bravely and were starved of possession for most of the first half. Tough defending from the back row combination of the destructive Tooks Choice and dynamic Nik Graf kept Munich in the game until finally some good sustained pressure from Rottweil enabled them to score. The rest of the first half was one way traffic as the impressive Rottweil continued to pile pressure on MRFC. Rottweil scored a further 3 tries to take the game into half time at 29-0. Munich came out in the second half looking like a different team. From the start Munich applied pressure. The front row of returning MRFC Legend Bilinho alongside the rock solid Karl Wolf and athletic Maxime Gelly began to dominate the scrum. The industrious Bruno Daquino was causing mayhem in the loose whilst the sublime half back combination of Giacomo Bernobi and Fred Begards were controlling the game.
It was 60 minutes into the game and Munich began to find some space. The flying Lions debutant Korbinian Vogel and Tobi Lefherz were beginning to find space and gain yards as the Rottweil defence tired. Finally the electrifying full back and MRFC product Caiel Harnischfeger found space out wide and put the outstanding Alex Schranz into the corner to score to make it 29-5. The sensational Antoine Miguet showed his flexibility as he was playing out of position in the centres and was solid in defence and showed fantastic footballing skills pinning Rottweil back again and again.
Man of the Match Lucas Marchi was beginning to make dents in the Rottweil defence and finally the pacey Maxime Gelly made a break from 60 metres out. The Frenchman showed his determination with a classic 'Samoan Sidestep' on the covering defender and then sped away into the corner to score his 3rd try in 3 games.
Final Score of 29-10. Munich showed great durability to come back into the game in the second half and look forward to welcoming Rottweil to Grosshadern next year.
