München, 8. April 2017, Bericht: Alan Moughty

München RFC II : RC Unterföhring
20 : 31

After a hard week of training, the first of the two homes games kicked off with the seconds playing host to RC Unterfoering. From the kick off, Unterfoering controlled the ball very well and worked they way up to the 5m line. But with some excellent defence a penalty was forced and MRFC cleared the lines. From the preceding lineout a mall was formed and driving through the middle of Unterfoering forwards, Jerome Preito crossed for the first try of the game. The conversion narrowly missed the score stayed 5-0. Unterfoering kicked off and after a good exit setup play in the opposition half.  With some good pressure in the tackle area and another penalty was awarded to MRFC. Again form the lineout and with Unterfoering under pressure to prevent the maul, Munich sold the dummy and crossed for the second they counter attacked and scored there opening try 10- 0.
Unterfoering eventually got over the line with some good attacking play to leave it 10-7.  But before the half time whistle came, Den blocked down the kick to score before the break. 15-7.
The second half though, Unterfoering took control of the game to score 3 more tries to secure the win 20-31. A lot of to work on over the coming as this loss puts MRFC under a lot of pressure to retain the cup.  But it's not impossible and once they continue to pick up points in every game that will put them is a strong position by the time the end of the season comes around.
